03.02.2018 : RCF, Kapurthala is engaged in manufacture of Railway passenger coaches of both AC and Non-AC andspecial type of coaches of speed of 200 KMPH for the use of Indian Railways which run passenger services through out the length and width of nation. In a view to attract Vendors for supplying the material used in production of coaches, aVendor Meet wasorganized in Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala in which vendors from Punjab,Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, UP, Haryana, Maharashtra and West Bengal Areasparticipated in the meeting.

The meeting was presided over by Sh. Ratan Lal, General Manager, RCF, Kapurthala.While addressing the vendors Sh. Ratan Lal appreciated the contributionof vendors as nation builders for supplying assemblies, sub assemblies and other components toRCF for production of passenger coaches.Sh. Ratan Lal further emphasized that industries should come forwarded and develop, manufacture and supply the components required for LHBdesign of coachesas well as MEMU coaches including the materials required for manufacture ofspecial types of coachesof high speed of 200 KMPH made of stainless steel material and thisindirectly would give boost to the industry located in Punjab or areas around.The vendors and suppliers were impressed upon forcommitment to supply of components of other assemblies so as to undertake manufacture of supply with state of the art passenger coaches for people of India.General Manager further mentioned that RCF is ready to extend help enabling the new entrant vendors in developing and supply of materials.

Sh. R.L.Pawar, Principle Chief Material Manager while addressing the vendors and suppliers explained RCF’s planning to manufacture passenger coaches and detailed the procedure forRailway Procurement for materials and other components through the transparent method ofprocurementusing aid of computer and internet. It was further added by the Sh Pawar that RCF has adopted the most modern high tech method of procurement through electronicprocurement ad electronic reverse auctionprocess which areappreciated by the vendors.It was also stressed that vendors are required to develop andmanufacture quality product enabling Indian Railways to maintain the coaches and run the train services efficiency.

Vendors expressed great enthusiasm and commitment in supplying the material and other components to RCF.The vendor meets opened further opportunity for the industry located in Punjab and areas around and the new entrepreneurs to come forward and partner with the Rail Coach Factorywhich will go long away in bringing an industrial revolution in Punjab and around and bringing the uplift in the economy of the state.

The meet was attended by Sh P C Gupta , Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Sh Dinesh Kumar Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, Sh C M Jindal Principal Financial Advisor and others.
